| Why doesn't Cuprident Oral Care contain fluoride? |
| |
Extensive exposure to fluoride, in our water and food chain, has led some medical professionals, scientists, and dentists to recommend the elimination of fluoride from the public water supply, and to avoid using fluoridated toothpastes and rinses. The Inventor of Cuprident Oral Care decided not to add fluoride to his formulations because he wanted his products to be natural and safe to use. Cuprident's patented MCC® Formulation contains an ionic copper complex that coats the teeth, inhibiting the colonization by bacteria, but it does not penetrate the tooth enamel. Cuprident contains no fluoride, but its active ingredient (MCC®) is compatible with the use of fluoride. If a fluoride toothpaste is desired, alternate its use with Cuprident to obtain the benefits of both. For example, use a fluoride toothpaste in the morning and the Cuprident Oral Care System at night, before you go to sleep.
There are "caries-prone" individuals who may benefit from added topical fluoride applications. In proper, controlled amounts, fluoride can make teeth more resistant to caries (cavity) formation. Dentists can apply a treatment or prescribe, on a case-by-case basis, fluoride preparations (gels and rinses) that can be very beneficial to certain individuals. The choice of using a fluoride-containing product in addition to Cuprident is, therefore, up to you and your dental professional.

| Isn't copper a dangerous metal? |
| |
Copper is a necessary element for cellular metabolism and a minimum daily requirement of 0.9 mg is important for good health. Recent reports indicate that most people do not get enough essential copper in their diet.
The proper amount of copper ions in the proper form provides the important benefits that the Cuprident Oral Care System offers. Cuprident contains about 0.5 mg of copper per gram in the form of MCC®, and only a pea-size amount of toothpaste is necessary when brushing teeth. In addition, toxicology, mutagenicty and allergy studies on MCC®, have all been negative. Therefore, any copper in the form of MCC® that may accidentally be ingested when using the Cuprident Oral Care System as prescribed should not present a problem. Cuprident has been used by hundreds of dental patients during its development without incident.
However, all individuals are different and can react differently to products. Some individuals may have a uniquely adverse reaction to a product. As with any product, discontinue use if you experience an allergic reaction or any discomfort indicating that the products may not be appropriate for your body chemistry. Although copper is an essential element in small quantities, like most things, it can be dangerous if consumed in excess amounts.
|
| |
| Are there any side effects from using these products? |
| |
|
The Cuprident Oral Care System is safe to use and contains no harsh or dangerous chemicals such as fluoride, alcohol, bleaches, peroxides or toxic antibacterial agents. Some people (less than 10%) notice a "metallic" taste when they first use Cuprident. The active ingredient, MCC®, reacts with debris in the mouth - blood, cellular debris, bacterial debris - potentially giving a metallic taste for the first 7 - 10 days of use. This indicates that Cuprident is "working". This taste will be replaced by a pleasant minty flavor after about a week of use.
|
| |
| Is the system safe to use for pregnant women? (diabetic? / taking medication?) |
| |
|
Yes, the Cuprident Oral Care System is safe to use and contains no harsh or dangerous chemicals. In addition, toxicology, mutagenicty and allergy studies on MCC® have all been negative. However, if you have any questions whether Cuprident is safe to use in your particular circumstances, please check with your doctor.
|
| |
| Can children use these products? |
| |
|
Yes, the Cuprident Oral Care System is safe for children to use. Cuprident contains no harsh or dangerous chemicals. Children who have not yet developed their secondary teeth may need to use a fluoride product in addition to Cuprident. Dentists can apply a treatment or prescribe, on a case-by-case basis, fluoride preparations (gels and rinses) that can be very beneficial. Please consult with your dentist regarding your child's oral care program.
|
| |
| How long will it take before I see results? |
| |
|
On average, individuals notice a difference after using the Cuprident Oral Care System for 10 days to two weeks. Over time, the active ingredient in Cuprident, MCC®, creates a copper ionic shield over teeth and gums, making it more difficult for bacteria to stick to them. As a result, plaque and calculus formation are significantly hindered, leading to cleaner teeth, fresher breath and improved oral health.
|
| |
| Isn't sodium lauryl sulfate dangerous? OR Why does Cuprident contain sodium lauryl sulfate? |
| |
Sodium lauryl sulfate is a foaming and cleaning agent, naturally derived from coconut and/or palm kernel oil. It is used in the Cuprident Oral Care System to help disperse the active ingredients throughout the mouth. There have been rumors that sodium lauryl sulfate is dangerous and may cause cancer. The American Cancer Society has confirmed that sodium lauryl sulfate does not cause cancer.
Sodium lauryl sulfate has a long history of safe use in health and beauty products. We are confident that this ingredient is safe to use, and a very low concentration of this ingredient is used in our products.

Cuprident utilizes a preventative approach to oral care: not only will your teeth feel cleaner and your breath remain fresher for longer, you will also experience improved oral health.
|
| |
| How does it work? What makes it so special? |
| |
The proprietary MCC® complex in Cuprident possesses a unique bipolar structure that creates a copper ionic shield over teeth and gums, making it more difficult for bacteria to stick to them. As a result, plaque and calculus formation are significantly hindered, leading to improved oral health. The MCC® also reduces bad breath (halitosis) by both direct and catalytic action with the volatile sulfur compounds that cause bad breath.
The Cuprident Oral Care System contains the only active ingredient on the market that has been clinically proven to reduce plaque formation up to 24 hours!

| |

| I have bleeding gums / gingivitis - will these products help? |
| |
|
Yes - In the case of gingivitis, bleeding gums, loose teeth, accumulation of calculus, and bad breath, it is highly recommended that you consult with your dentist for removal of calculus from the teeth below the gum line. Many dentists have prescribed and used Cuprident Oral Care in their practices to prevent calculus formation, and as a treatment after gingivectomy, as well as treating a variety of dental disorders.
|
| |
| I have mouth sores - are these products gentle to use and will they help? |
| |
Yes, the Cuprident Oral Care System contains no harsh or dangerous chemicals such as fluoride, alcohol, bleaches, peroxides or toxic antibacterial agents, which may irritate the already inflamed tissues in the mouth. Cuprident Oral Foam Rinse was specially designed as a soft and gentle approach to oral care for those with painful oral care challenges.
Although we cannot make any therapeutic claims, clinical reports suggest that the active ingredients in Cuprident Oral Care gently reduce soreness and Cuprident users have reported a dramatic improvement with mouth sores. However, everyone's personal experience will be different.
|
| |
| Does this oral care system help with bad breath / halitosis? |
| |
|
Yes - the proprietary copper complex in Cuprident combines directly with certain bad smelling sulfur compounds and catalytically oxidizes others bringing about a noticeably favorable difference in "Bad Breath" (Halitosis). Most "Bad breath" is caused by sulfur compounds that are found hiding among the tiniest of spaces in the mouth and on the tongue, far back in the mouth. The MCC® in Cuprident has the ability to alter the environment of the mouth and make the formation of these compounds difficult, destroying their ability to cause odors.

| |
| Does Cuprident Toothpaste whiten teeth? |
| |
|
No - Cuprident does not contain bleaches or peroxides, so it cannot whiten the enamel of your teeth. Some Cuprident users have reported that their teeth look brighter. This is because when using Cuprident, a copper ionic shield develops over teeth and gums, preventing bacteria from colonizing. If the bacteria are not creating a film over teeth, food particles and drinks such as coffee, tea or wine cannot stick to the teeth. Therefore, Cuprident users experience cleaner feeling and brighter looking teeth.

| |
| If I do not like the products / if they do not work for me - can I return them? |
